“For more than 25 years, the Chicago Architecture Center’s expertly trained docent volunteers have led the river cruise, sharing fascinating stories behind more than 50 buildings along the Chicago River. Hear how Chicago grew from a small settlement into one of the world’s largest cities in less than 100 years. In just 90 minutes, you’ll get the best overview of Chicago’s architecture and its history.”

2. Museum Campus
McCormick Place is located just south of Chicago’s Museum Campus, home to three of the city’s leading cultural institutions:
- Discover natural history at Field Museum (say hi to SUE the dinosaur on your way in!)
- Get up close and personal with 32,000 sea creatures at Shedd Aquarium
- Explore our universe at Adler Planetarium
Pick one, or head to all three—you can’t go wrong with these iconic Chicago landmarks.
3. Deep dish pizza
Ask any Chicagoan who has the best deep dish and you’re likely to inspire a heated debate. While Giordano’s is popular among out-of-towners, you may also want to consider these staples:
Pro tip: you’re going to want to grab a fork and knife, and maybe a couple extra napkins. .
4. Cloud Gate at Millennium Park
If it’s your first time in Chicago, then a visit to Cloud Gate is essential. Otherwise known as “The Bean,” Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate is an iconic Chicago monument. Standing at 33 feet high, 42 feet wide, and 66 feet long, Cloud Gate is one of the largest outdoor art installations in the world. Once you’ve taken your selfie, enjoy a lovely fall stroll around Millennium Park’s gardens, galleries and fountains.
